I was on my way to make a presentation to the company that I wrote my bachelor thesis about, when I walked into advertising wonderland. In Nørreport station in the middle of Copenhagen (the station with most traffic), Nike took over EVERYTHING, walls, the speakers, the floor, windows, and literally every inch of the metro station. They made a tribute to the Danish soccer player Niklas Bendtner and made him the centre of their “Nike – write the future” campaign. There’s a whole floor, just dedicated to Niklas Bendtners career, and in the middle of the station, theirs a clock that counts down to the next Niklas Bendtner goal. People can guess in how many seconds the next goal from Niklas will be, and win cool prices, When people are coming down from the escalators, they hear cheering from a stadium as if they were at the world cups. From my Point of View this is just amazing - People see, hear and feel Nike and their campaign, there are multiple ways that the brand are activating the consumer and make them remember their encounter Nike – Well done!!

PS. Even though I really like this outdoor advertising adventure I feel a little sad for the rest of the players on the Danish team – so here’s a little shout out for them

Oh I forgot to mention that the people behind this, has put out a green carpet that looks exactly like a football field. A really cool effect of this carpet, is that it gives the people on the station the feeling of standing on a football field, not only in their eyes but also trough their feet… When walking on the carpet it somehow feels like waking on grass… or maybe I’m too hooked up on advertising – do I need a cold turkey….. NO WAY – I LOVE IT!!!
