The Giant Easter rubber duck

Easter is packed with bunnies, chicks and eggs, but Marabou wanted to create something new, fresh and surprising. However, with all chocolate brands competing at the same time it’s difficult to break through the clutter.

We therefore took our Easter campaign to the streets. With nothing less than an interactive rubber duck on a mission. Consumers discovered its whereabouts through hints on social media and their tweets, likes and comments sent it to its next destination. People who found the Giant Easter Rubber Duck could participate in an Easter competition by scanning a QR code.

In just two weeks, the Easter Duck travelled 1,651 kilometers through Denmark, visited 26 cities and arrived to Copenhagen just in time for Easter.

An unusual Easter campaign created for Marabou Milk Chocolate combining live marketing with social media and mobile marketing.

Sales increased by 17%.
